Pig Club
Pig club is a small scale cooperative breaking down barriers between producer and consumer of meat-based products. The raising and eating of meat has often been villainised in modern society where a move to plant-based diets are on the rise. But what if raising and eating meat can do more than harm the planet? What if it could actually do the exact opposite?
Pig Club brings members of the public into the behind the scenes world of raising livestock by redesigning the system in which the meat is raised and cared for. The pigs are integrated as part of a broader agroforestry scheme with the core aim of regenerating a previously over-extracted field, bringing it back to life in it's richest form.
The project is overseen by woodsman and farmer Tom Kemp, founder of Working Woodlands Cornwall and Four Legs Good.
Explorations on material origins, rearing animals and personal conflicts have been shared through Ellie's newsletter Field Matter -
